Leaking water-supply or drainage pipes
The entry point must be repaired before the internal wall is replastered or painted. Loose concrete and plaster should be removed, cracks should be filled with suitable repair material, and damaged roofs, gutters or plumbing should be corrected. 3. Condensation
Condensation forms when humid indoor air touches a cooler surface such as a wall, window or mirror. Cooking, bathing, washing, breathing and indoor plants add water vapour to the air. When ventilation is poor, the moisture remains inside and forms droplets.

Water droplets on windows or cold walls
Black mould near corners or window frames
A musty smell in closed rooms
Dampness in kitchens and bathrooms
Condensation is mainly controlled through ventilation rather than external waterproofing. Exhaust fans, open windows and better cross-ventilation help remove humid air. Furniture should also be kept slightly away from walls to allow air movement.

3. Protect External Surfaces
